"Suspicious men are in the cave. What about you?" is one of the funniest NPC quotes. I'm glad they didn't change it in Gen 3! Yeah, pretty sure if I was a Rocket my response would be "why of course, now hand over your pokemon" Thanks, it's a reference to the character Maud Pie from MLP:FiM who's main/sole interest is rocks Also slightly amused that it sounds like Fluttershy's describing my pokemon team in that first clip Yeah, their pokedex entries are somewhat dark with the fungus eventually taking over the host. The NPC's that run in circles are always amusing Yeah, other than Poison Sting which isn't too good it's probably going to be a while till it learns any STAB move which will have to be via TM. All the Rockets just look like they're standing around. I like to dream but someday I'll train a top percentage Rattata and become the world's greatest Rattata master Yeah, I also liked the music that plays for Mt. Moon Square too The Rocket Grunts sure like issuing threats Yeah, he suddenly seems like he's concerned about the cave's natural environment despite Team Rocket's goals seemingly being the antithesis of that Yeah, they're not really that interesting in their Gen 1 incarnation as they're kind of just there just their isn't really a backstory too them. They're also kind of one of the more sensible villainous teams which probably makes them more dull though as their goal is just to make money through criminal means rather than being ideologically driven towards world ending plots with Giovanni just being evil rather than crazy or misguided. I think their Gen 2 portrayal was more interesting with Archer trying to revive Team Rocket but Team Rocket's Gen 2 arc still always felt pretty short and ends abruptly with the takeover at the Radio Tower. Yeah, even if you didn't want a fossil, you'd still have to pick one up to move one, if he's claiming both as his why didn't he pick them up already

I can't believe the coincidence of this given I was making jokes about training the ultimate Rattata but this happened whilst I was training on route 4 this morning Was pretty nervous when it appeared as I wasn't prepared for it and only had 14 pokeballs but was fortunately training BloodSkies at the time and she was a great help in catching it. Probably won't be featuring Shiny Rattata too much in the playthrough though as I already have Joanne but could maybe feature Shiny Rattata in the post game.

Yesssss!! Well, you've got to at least evolve it! BTW I'm now SICK. I'm really annoyed about it. It's a cold, but I feel like it could be a bad one. It's already hugely irritating.

Thanks, yeah planning to evolve her in a future part, do you have any ideas for nickname's for her, I couldn't think of anything at the time of capture? Sorry to hear that, hope you get well soon.

ShiningRat Thanks, will give her the nickname when I reach the Name Rater in Lavender town Part 6 of Leaf Green - Crossing the Nugget Bridge! Seems it hopefully was the USB cable that was the problem with the capture device as I've had no further issues whilst recording parts 6 and 7. Since it seems it wasn't the video input method causing the problems I'm back to using the PAL Gamecube (60hz Mode) with the RGB Scart Cable again now as it's best setup I have available for the video quality.

"Do you know Bill?" "Well I know that everyone in here can't seem to shut up about him!"
More like too much to do, too little time!! But then, he's an NPC. VERY little to do. And infinite time...
"Come see me any time." "I think once is enough." Awww! (Is there any point to his backyard?? Are there even any hidden items there??)
I'm registering your enthusiasm, Berry Crush guy, but I haven't the time for this.
How'd it add pages to your Pokédex, Blue?? You have to actually ACQUIRE the 'mons. Tsk!!

"Do you know Bill?" "Well I know that everyone in here can't seem to shut up about him!" Yeah, seemed like everyone in the pokemon centre was talking about him I wish I had his problem, loads of time and nothing to do sounds good Yeah, didn't really intend for that bit to sound so mean, was struggling a bit with doing the voice at the time and didn't really want to read through the badges again. Will probably head back to the garden with the item finder when I backtrack through Cerulean on the way to Rock Tunnel. I think I remember doing berry crush once in the past but it was a pain because it meant having to link up with another game. I think there may have also been a NPC in the Sevii Islands that had something to do with Berry Crush too. Yeah it registers Eevee and the original Eeveelution trio as being seen when you view them on Bill's PC but you don't get the data for them without capture.

I enjoyed the Mew glitch reference
Also the Squirtle and Wartortle calls
Hiker Nob. There's Blackbelt Nob in RSE!
"If you're out at Cerulean's cape... Well, it should be as a couple." Bit rude!
"An all out offensive"... Proceeds to use Harden for the first 4 or 5 turns.

I enjoyed the Mew glitch reference Couldn't resist that one, would have performed the glitch if I was playing Red, Blue or Yellow Yeah, I was meaning to do the Squirtle call earlier but kept forgetting, remembered just before Shellshore evolved, definitely going to do Blastoise in the future too Think there may have been a trainer called Nob in GSC too. Yeah, the Kanto NPC's tend to be pretty rude or judgemental Yeah Misty's battle style is really defensive, my team was under levelled but I was really struggling to do much damage to her pokemon.

Part 8 of Leaf Green - Road to Vermilion and Route 11!
Apologies, my voice sounds pretty rough in this part, I recorded this part the same day as I recorded part 3 of the PBR Save file revisit as I sounded pretty terrible on that video too. My voice is pretty bad normally but not sure if this was down to tiredness or a cold or something that day.

I liked your assessment of the Cerulean Police and then the Rocket Grunt. My sentiments exactly
You don't sound terrible in this episode to me? You... actually sound more enthused!
"You won't poison mad woman...... But you will confuse her." ....... And paralyse her.
Re. them spamming Supersonic - IKR!!
I like that you said "Good." at getting rid of the last bit of Butterfree's HP. It's... P. much exactly the kind of thing I do.
She's learned........................................ Poison Sting. Poor mad woman. I could adapt her namesake song to complain about the bad movepool.
"What's your secret?" Being able to leave the one spot. (Granted, some NPCs manage to miraculously level up their 'mons without appearing to do anything.)
I agree, there was no nice way to answer that, he really put you in a tight spot there.
"... I was simply walking past. I gave absolutely NO indication of wanting to talk to you."
"[Farfetch'd attacks] using a..............................................." ? ? ? Left me guessing! I assume you were gonna mention the leek??
They really hold out on Revives, don't they?? This is another reason I Pickup.
"Really Gambler Hugo." Nice.
I thought you were tempting fate with Shellshore there against Magnemite!
That NPC would fit in well at Nugget Bridge. It's almost as though he was misplaced in the game! ... Well. Not that the rest of his dialogue indicates that.
"Gamer Darian would like to use Vulpix." - I was amused by that.
Awww, Acidia!!

I liked your assessment of the Cerulean Police and then the Rocket Grunt. My sentiments exactly Yeah, seems like a bit of a plot hole to have the police guarding the house but not checking if the thief is still nearby Thanks, was a bit worried that my voice sounded different from usual. Was pretty relieved when Butterfree went down, kind of one of those battles where your not going to lose but it could take a while to win Yeah, quite a while before I can obtain the Sludge Bomb TM but will try to pickup some other TM moves to teach her Yeah, it's pretty unexplained how some of the levels rapidly increase when re-battling with the VS Seeker after battling them just a moment before Yeah, he didn't even battle that badly, the main problem being his Butterfree lacked an attack move to follow up on the status moves. Yeah, guess he was friendlier than some of the other NPC's on the route though Yeah, meant to mention the leek but kind of forgot mid sentence Could maybe give pickup at try with Meowth/Cash while training between parts Couldn't resist mentioning that Yeah, gambling on it not having electric type moves wasn't the best choice Yeah, the rest of his dialogue is pretty standard but the same post battle dialogue as the Nugget Bridge trainers seemed kind of random I decided to allow it as Vulpix is is one of my favourite fire types Yeah, pleased she evolved, Weepinbell's cool and grateful for Acidia's help in the battle against Misty
